Saw a specialist about a week ago. He took some x-rays, wiggled my hand around a lot to see what bothered it most, and knew almost immediately what it was. It was a very specific tendon where my wrist and thumb join. He stuck a cortisone shot in there, and a week later, voila! Completely fine! He did say it may come back, or it might fix it indefinitely. Sometimes overworked tendons just need a little boost and they are good to go for years and years. Or my anatomy might just be prone to it and it will relapse again sooner. We'll have to see. But for now I CAN SCULPT AGAIN!!!
I will be taking it a bit slower from now on though. Really I just need to remember to take breaks every hour or two. It's so easy to sit and sculpt for hours and hours on end without thinking. Gotta set up some kind of timer or something.
Anyway, now that I am over a month behind on EVERYthing, I have a lot to do. I still have a full list of commissions from August to complete, so it will be a bit before I take more. I'm very very behind on emails now too, so please be patient while I work through the immense backlog. As for comments on deviations, honestly I'm so insanely far behind I might just clear them all out. There are months and months worth of them, around 6000 total so I have no hope of answering them all before more just pile up. I do read them all and really do appreciate the kind words, but I'm just one person and can't possibly keep up with all of them. If you had a question about commissions or anything in a comment somewhere, please NOTE me. Notes take priority over comments, and don't get lost as easily.
Lastly, I want to say thanks to everyone for being so supportive and understanding these last few months. I've been struggling with wrist issues off and on since June, and it's really thrown everything off. It hit right when I really felt like I was getting into the groove of things. Now after so many months of caution, and outright not sculpting for almost an entire month, it will be nice to get back to a working schedule. I've felt like quite the lazy butt of late, not contributing to the household income, only able to do so much around the house or in general...I've really taken having two working hands for granted! It's been a real downer! So here is to moving forward!
