So this guy was ridiculous. Remind me never to make large complicated completely WHITE dragons again. Keeping this guy clean was just...stupid. White clay shows every tiny speck of dust and lint and I swear it's just a magnet for it. Even washing my hands every freaking 10 minutes wasn't enough. UGH. I'm pretty sure half the time making him was just spent keeping him clean -_-
ANYway, I do love this guy. Maybe more so because he was such a pain in the butt and he's finally done. I don't even have an estimate of hours put into him because he took so long. He's actually based on a dragon I drew on my favorite coffee mug. It was one of those blank ones they sell as gifts and you can draw on it with porcelain paint. I see this dragon nearly everyday on my mug and decided it was time I sculpt him!
He's made entirely of colored clay, and I decided to just glaze the gold bits on him to make them really stand out. The white looked so nice and soft unglazed, I let it remain matte. That is rare for me, but every once in a while a piece just looks great without glaze
Made from Premo Sculpey clay, 6 inches long, 3 inches high
