The story behind the pendant, in the mother's words:
"My son was born extremely premature (3 months early), and the only jewelry I've worn has been my wedding band. In the n.i.c.u. (neonatal intensive care unit) you have to practically scrub down every time you enter a nursery. So after my own hospital stay where I had to keep the jewelry off anyway, it just didn't make sense to continue wearing any. So I'm really happy that something that celebrates my relationship with my little joey will be the first jewelry set that I put on in months. In the n.i.c.u. mommies are encouraged to follow the example of mama kangaroos and practice kangaroo care - improving their preemie's health and hopefully shortening their hospital stay. Well every time I put on my earrings and necklace I'll think of everything my family went through and smile because of how far my we've come."
It's the one's with stories behind them, like this one, that make my job so rewarding
There are matching earrings too! The joey is super tiny. The mama kangaroo is just 1 inch tall.
The story's inspiring. The kangaroo makes sense.
