So, a lesser known fact about me: I also paint. It's something I do very rarely because I enjoy sculpting so much more. I have sketch books full of little doodles and such, but creating full compositions is something I'm very much out of the habit of doing.
I made this for my dad for Christmas. He's really about the only person I've busted out paints for in last few years. Every year I give him a dragon creation from myself. It's been sculptures the last couple years, so he requested a painting this time.
My dad LOVES grey cloudy wintery days. He also enjoys peace and quiet and solitude. I imagine if he were a dragon, he'd be a storm dragon, and live somewhere high up were he could be alone with his thoughts and his clouds.
He wanted a companion piece to this colored pencil drawing I did back in highschool, which has long been his favorite. Apparently I have now topped it, and Lord Storm is the new favorite
(the colored pencil drawing is on a very old account of mine, by the way. I have long since forgotten the password so I cannot access it anymore. Check it out for a laugh. Some pretty terrible sculptures in there )
Okay, this reminds of someone very close to my heart. He strives in every art medium he can get his hands on and it's just one of those things that it's like "How are you so great at all of this!?" I feel that this is also one of those moments. You have a true talent to all of your work. You are fantastic! I love the way the colors go and the highlights and shadows you put into all of this. Amazing.
this looks fantastic !
it is really very nice !!!!!
