This was made for the other winner of my Hybrid Challenge. She had some wonderful concept art so I was really excited to bring it to life. It was a crazy challenge. Most of the body is a clay gradient, as are the wings and fins. I did as much as possible in colored clay, to cut back on painting. I think I spent over 5 hours just painting the spots. Because they are not just any spots, they are OUTLINED spots. Holy jeez they took forever O_o
The winner, Karissa's, story behind her characters:"My dad had the best hobby of having the most colorful aquarium when I was 10. My dad had so many beautiful fish and other critters, but my absolute favorites were the mandarine goby and the candy cane shrimp for the very reason that they were such close little buddies .For some weird reason I saw this fish as a dragon and gave him his funny little name Dragarin (reason being I was only 10 XD) and then there was little Scampi by his side 24/7"
