Description
Bear keeps me company in my new studio during the day. Mostly he sleeps all day, but he'll come out to say hi now and then, especially if there are treats involved. He woke up long enough for a yogurt drop and a sleepy hello
Bear's brother, Zoro, got very sick and had to be put down a few months ago. For anyone worried that he might be lonely, I would get him another friend, but he is super aggressive to other rats and would probably kill it. He doesn't seem to mind being on his own, especially since I get him out so much and hang out near him all day. He is the only rat I have ever allowed to be alone. Other rats I've owned have gotten depressed once their last buddy died, but perked up as soon as I got them new cagemates. Rat's are normally very social and need other ratties to be happy. Bear is an extremely rare exception to the rule and seems to enjoy his loner wolf status
EDIT:
RIP little buddy.

Sounds just like my little Mickie, and looked just like him too. I know I'm almost 2 years late, but I'm sorry for your loss. They make such wonderful companions, and it HURTS to lose them.
